Wednesday, April 30

Last weekend's game was the best game I've been apart of at the Plymouth Pavilion! The atmosphere was great and the game was a lot of fun. I wasn't sure How much I was going to be able to play, due to my shoulder injury, but once the game got started and my adrenaline started pumping, I was OK. It was an intense competition, with the "Win or its the End" type of atmosphere. That energy combined with the fans energy made for a fantastic event. Now we have to move our focus to our old rivals, the Guildford Heat. I expect the intensity the be on par with last week's and the support to be just as great. I took a few steps back with my shoulder, so Fiona and Nikki have been working hard on me all week to get me ready for battle in Birmingham. I hope to be effective at the weekend and help my team bring home the trophy. I'll let you know how it goes. Be Easy. DeAntoine "CAT" Beasley,

I want to say a BIG thank you to all the people that came out to the 25th Anniversary game on Saturday. It was a fun weekend and the fan support was amazing. I think we had our highest attendance of the season on Saturday, which is great. Meeting the former players and seeing some of the guys that I have played with or against again was a really cool experience. All of the players had a good time with the events and it seemed as though the fans did too. If you missed last weekend's festivities, you missed out on some good times. We finished the regular season on a high note with a huge TV win on last Wednesday versus Milton Keynes. Then we beat the old guys of Raiders past. Now we have to get ready for a whole new season, the playoffs. We are hosting our first BBL playoff game at the Pavilion on Saturday and it should be a good one. The match is against Sheffield, and they were the last team to beat us this season. I know the atmosphere will be great, we just have to do our part to make it to Finals weekend in Birmingham. I am not yet fully fit for the weekend but my trusty physios Fiona and Nikki have been working really hard to get me as ready as possible for the big game. If you can't make it to this game because the tickets are all sold out, I'll let you know how it goes. Be Easy. PS If you didn't see Steve "Top Bunk" Billings' game changing free throw, you have to purchase a DVD of the match. Its priceless!

Wednesday, April 16

As you may have heard, we had a tough road trip last week. It started with a tough loss away at Sheffield on Friday. We didn't play particularly well and they did. We made it interesting down the stretch and even took the lead late in the game but couldn't hold on for the win. To make things worse, I injured my shoulder and wasn't able to participate in Sunday's game in Scotland. We looked terrible in the first half of the Scottish Rocks game but we showed a lot of character. We were down by as much as 19 points but the guys kept fighting and the guys on the bench kept encouraging. In the end we won the match and that made the coach ride home a little bit more bearable. Wednesday night is our last regular season game and our first TV game on Setanta. It will be great if you can come and soak up the atmosphere in person, but if you can't, please support us from home by watching it. I won't be able to play in this match either, which is very frustrating, but I know the other guys are looking forward to beating Milton Keynes for the first time this season. I'll let you know how it goes. Be Easy.

Thursday, April 10

After having the weekend of last week, we're back and preparing for a tough finish to our regular season campaign. We are on the road Friday to Sheffield and Sunday to Scotland. It is always tough to win on the road in this league and this weekend won't be much different. Sheffield has been playing really well as of late and they get good support at their home gym. This will be the first time we've played away at both venues this season. The Scottish Rocks is always a tough match for us and I think we've only won once an their home floor since joining the BBL. This weekend will be vital in holding on to our 2ND place ranking in the league and a great playoff position. I'll let you know how it goes. Be Easy.

Friday, March 28

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter! Our Good Friday wasn't so good, with a big loss to Newcastle Eagles. We put on a poor performance and was punished for it. I have said this many times but the good thing about playing the season is the next match comes around very quickly. We face a very tough and scrappy Cheshire Jets team at the Pavilions tonight. We are looking to get back on a winning streak starting with them and continuing at Birmingham tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes. Be Easy.

Good Evening Reader,
The weekend looked promising and everyone surrounding the team had a good feeling about the 1st game of the season.

Then on Thursday, just 2 days before the first match, Gavin Love and Mark Woodhouse went down with injury. Then in an instant, the feeling went from optimistic to " here we go again". Gavin and Mark both played through their injuries and helped us to our first win of the 06-07 season. Everyone chipped in with the hard fought victory and it was great to see. The man of the match to me and the rest of the team had to be Jeff Danchie. He played big minutes and made big plays, filling in for Gavin Love. To have a successful season we'll need guys to step up the way Jeff did on saturday.

The atmosphere at Worcester was great. They had a packed house and our fans did their job as usual. The crowd combined with the fast paced tempo, created an exciting game. Worcester shot the ball well and played really hard. They will definitely upset some teams this season. After the match, our team is just hoping to ride this momentum throughout this week of training and onto the next fixtures. I would like to say thank you to our fans that travelled up with us and I hope to see you and more next game.

Be Easy,

DeAntoine "CAT" Beasley
